Optimising the acoustics of an industrial office space
The iconic Central Kávéház building houses the creative minds of one the leading Hungarian marketing agencies. Opposite to the 19th century façade, the inside is minimalist, slightly industrial with exposed pipes and brick ceilings. Old buildings offer unique design opportunities, but some rooms can be challenging acoustically.
We had a survey done to determine the best options for maximum sound absorption, while keeping in mind the minimal design style. The solution was: large panels suspended from the ceiling, and coloured to match.
Suspension allows both sides of the panel to be a reflective surface and by using a matching colour scheme, the panels blend in to the overall interior of the room.
